Photo retouching consists of many types of tasks that may be applied to an image to increase the quality of the photo. Any photo printed in a magazines, newspaper, billboard or any other media are retouched. No matter how professional or experienced the photographer may be, an art director with a trained eye will point out areas of any given photo that requires some sort of retouching.
Basic retouching is performed and included on most estimates unless extensive retouching must be rendered like in above photo example. Stylizing, correcting flesh tones or eliminating hot spots is crucial for the quality of your finished printing or internet project.

Common Photo Retouching.
General retouching: such as eliminating blemishes on a portrait, toning down a busy background or bright highlights.
Silhouetting or Isolating: extracting an image from it's background and softening the edges.
Drop Shadows: create a 3D effect text or an image to make it look grounded or stand out with dimension.
Color balancing: especially important in correcting flesh tones for a realistic reproduction.
